Competition rules
- The BBC Code of Conduct for competitions can be found at www.bbc.co.uk/competitioncode and all BBC Magazines ("BBCM") promotions comply with the Code.
- The promotion is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or over, except BBC employees and anyone connected with the promotion.
- The promoters are Finish Quantum and Pride of Britain Hotels.
- By entering the promotion, the participants agree:
- a. to be bound by these terms and conditions;
- b. that their surname and county of residence may be released if they win a prize;
- c. that should they win the promotion, their name and likeness may be used by BBCM for pre-arranged promotional purposes.
- Entrants should send their name, address and phone number to: Lisa Soave, Good Food December Competition, BBC Worldwide, Media Centre, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TQ. Send a separate entry for each prize and mark clearly with either 'Portugal holiday' or 'Chester Grosvenor'. Alternatively, enter online at www.bbcgoodfood.com/ content/competitions. The closing date and time is 11.59pm on the 31 December 2008. Entries received after that date will not be considered. Entries cannot be returned.
- Entrants must supply to BBCM their full name, postal address and daytime telephone number.
- Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry. Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted.
- The winning entrant(s) will be the first entry drawn at random from pooled online and postal entries.
- The Portugal prize is valid until April 2009. Travel is not permitted over Christmas, New Year, Easter and bank holidays. Any other exclusion dates specified if applicable. List of available dates will be given to the winner prior to booking. Prices are based on two people sharing a double/twin room. Insurance is not included. Travel to and from the airport is not included. For car hire, the driver must be aged over 23 and present a valid driving licence. Prize includes pre-holiday pack with digital camera, phrase book and hamper, return flights from London, car hire, three nights' accommodation, breakfast and dinner daily including wine, two cooking lessons, two tours and tastings at wineries, tour and tasting at a cheese maker, tour of weekend market, all local transfers and transportation. The Chester Grosvenor prize is valid Tuesday to Thursday subject to availability. Prize must be taken by 1 June 2009. Prize includes an overnight stay, cooking class with Simon Radley, tour of hotel cellars, eight-course tasting menu served with wine, refreshments throughout the day, full English breakfast and 24-hour parking.
- There is no cash alternative and the prize will not be transferable.
- BBCM's decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the promotion will be entered. Proof of postage is not proof of receipt and responsibility will not be accepted for entries lost, delayed or damaged in the post.
- The winner(s) will be notified within 60 days of the close of the promotion by post. The name and county of residence of the winner(s) may be obtained by sending an SAE to Lisa Soave, Good Food December Competition, BBC Worldwide, Media Centre, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TQ within two months of the closing date of the promotion.
- BBCM reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
- If the winner is unable to be contacted within two calendar months of the promotion's closing date, BBCM reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future BBCM promotion.
- BBCM excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the promotion or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.
- The promotion is subject to the laws of England.
- BBC Worldwide Ltd, publisher of Good Food, may contact you with details of its products and services or to undertake research. Please state 'Do not contact' on your entry if you prefer not to receive such information by post or phone. Please write your email address on your postcard if you prefer to receive such information by email BBC Worldwide Ltd may occasionally pass your details on to selected companies whose products and/or services might be of interest to you.
