Win an exclusive cookery course
The first National Baking Week is taking place from 20-26 October 2008, and Rosemary Shrager, the infectiously enthusiastic chef and TV personality, is giving her full support to the campaign, encouraging people of all ages to get stuck into baking!
To mark the occasion, an exclusive residential cookery course has been arranged for five Good Food readers (plus their partner or friend) at the prestigious Swinton Park Hotel Cookery School in North Yorkshire, where Rosemary's TV series School for Cooks is filmed.
The luxurious Swinton Park 'castle' Hotel has a fantastic setting in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens in the Yorkshire Dales countryside, near the village of Ripon. With 4 Red Stars and 3 Rosettes awarded by the AA for excellent facilities, high levels of service and quality cuisine, Swinton Park is one of the highest rated hotels in Yorkshire and Cumbria. Further details are available at swintonpark.com.
National Baking Week is being launched by the nation's favourite ovenware brand, Pyrex, and a host of household names including Kenwood, Lyle's Golden Syrup, Philadelphia, British Lion Eggs, Allinson Flours, Schwartz, Président and Fairy.
The aim of the campaign is to demonstrate just how quick, easy and rewarding baking can be and, throughout October, promotions in the national press, supermarkets and high street retailers will include free recipe books, money-off coupons and competitions.
Winners will receive:
Join award-winning Head chef Simon Crannage in the cookery school to rediscover the joys of home baking through hands-on demos and using the best seasonal ingredients, then enjoy what you've baked!
Check in on Saturday 29 November in good time to explore the hotel's stunning setting, then join the resident sommelier for a wine tasting from 6-7pm.
Closing date: 17 October 2008
