Win a luxury break for two
Two lucky users, plus their guests will enjoy four nights at the historic Ockenden Manor, plus Michelin dining and vineyard tours.
Good Food and Historic Sussex Hotels have teamed up to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a four-night break for two people, including a day visiting some of the areaâs best vineyards for tastings and lunch.
You donât need to cross the Channel to visit vineyards and taste fine white wines â some of the best are now being produced in Sussex, the centre of Englandâs wine country, and Ockenden Manor is the perfect base from which to embark on a tasting tour.
Located in Cuckfield, one of the prettiest villages in England, Ockenden Manor is a delightful Elizabethan country house hotel, full of character, comfort and quiet luxury, set in nine acres with views over the South Downs. It has 22 suites and rooms and its Michelin-starred restaurant is one of only three in Sussex. Head chef Stephen Crane sources as much produce as possible from the local area â typical dishes include Noisettes of monkfish with Parma ham, tomato and basil mayonnaise and warm new potato salad and Warm bitter chocolate tart with almond cream.
The winners will be chauffeur-driven to Bookers Vineyard at Bolney, a few minutes away, and then on to Ridgeview at Ditchling, whose wines are stocked by Ockenden. The prizewinners will also get entrance tickets to one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe, Leonardslee, again only a short drive from Ockenden Manor.
