Tepid tea

I suppose I'm a bit of a freak, but I prefer my tea tepid, cool or at room temperature. I brew it in the normal way, then I let it fester for a while, let it fester some more and then I taste.
I actually like the stuff even if my fellow countrymen would frown upon me for exhibiting such heathen ways.
It's not that I don't like my cuppa hot, but when it comes to green tea I far prefer it cool, cold even, but always bitter. I got into the habit when I lived in Asia and it has never left me. The fact that every month sees a new report telling us how we should all be drinking more green tea, evangelising its second coming status, anti-cancer and arthritis battling qualities just adds to the feel-good factor that I actually like the stuff even if my fellow countrymen would frown upon me for exhibiting such heathen ways.
I do realise cold tea is probably not everyone's cuppa, but we all have our odd eating and drinking habits - even if we practice them in the privacy of our own skullery never to discuss with the neighbours. How about cold pizza or Yorkshire pudding? It's not just tea I'll take cold and it appears I'm not alone. Leftover Yorkshire pudding is nibblesome come mid-afternoon, even for breakfast if I'm being totally honest. Some people are even known to eat it with jam, although the ever excellent Old Foodie is not too impressed with their ilk.
She says, 'There are two schools of thought on the modern version of baked Yorkshire Pud. One is that it should be light and puffy - and made in small tins they are the same as 'popovers'. Heretics eat these with butter and jam. You know what they used to do with heretics, don't you?' Can't say I'd take it with jam, but if there was just too much the night before and a slice or two snoozing in the fridge come the next day, I'll take it cold every time.
It appears I'm not alone with cold pizza either. Some prefer it and I quote, 'We ordered a 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 pineapple pizza from Marcos Pizza last night. I left it out last night by mistake. I took a slice for breakfast and it was actually so much better then when it was hot and fresh.'
There are plenty of things we do 'wrong' with food and drink, although I tend to steer clear of the dressing up as a vicar and cracking open the lemon curd end of things, but how about you? Admit it, you can't beat a bit cold bolognese on toast with cream cheese... what? You mean you'll pass?
